Sam Munafo

Sam J. Munafo
President/ Chief Executive Officer

Sam Munafo is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Vantage Bank Texas. He joined the Bank in 2012 and brings with him a wealth of bank management and leadership experience. His career began in 1972 with First National Bank and Trust in Hamilton, Ohio. Throughout his career, Mr. Munafo has held leadership positions with several prominent Midwestern institutions, among them The Clyde Savings Bank and Indiana Lawrence Bank.

In 2001, Mr. Munafo was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Community First Bank and Trust in Celina, Ohio. Four years later, he returned to Hamilton, Ohio to assist in the consolidation of three regional charters into First Financial Bank Corporation (FFB). Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Banking Officer of FFB, a publicly-traded firm. FFB’s flagship subsidiary, First Financial Bank, operates over 125 branches in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Mr. Munafo holds an Accounting degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Commercial Lending School and the Graduate School of Banking, a school that is sponsored by the Central States Conference of Bankers Association. He was a class instructor for the Ohio Bankers Association as well as serving on the Governmental Affairs Division of the Ohio Bankers League.

Mr. Munafo’s community involvement has included service as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Hospice, United Way, local hospitals, and various other community organizations. He also served as Chairman of the Board for the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and on the Advisory Board for the Miami University School of Business.

Jeff Sinnott

Jeff Sinnott
Senior Executive Vice President/ Chief Operations, Technology & ERM Officer

Jeff Sinnott serves as the Chief Operations, Technology and ERM Officer of Vantage Bank Texas. Prior to joining Vantage Bank Texas, Mr. Sinnott was Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer for Southwest Bank. He has been an active leader in banking, operations and technology for the past 20 years. Mr. Sinnott has also worked with several of the largest consumer product companies leading global initiatives in product life cycle management and product assortment.

Mr. Sinnott has served on the Tarrant County Bankers Association Board and has served on the Business Digital Banking Product Advisory Board at Digital Insight and Intuit.

Mr. Sinnott earned his BA in Business Analysis/Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University. In addition, he graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado.

George Cardenas

George Cardenas
Executive Vice President / Regional President

George Cardenas is a Regional President for Vantage Bank Texas and is responsible for Commercial Lending in the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo and El Paso. He joined the Bank in 2003 and has over 20 years of lending experience.

Mr. Cardenas is a Trustee Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of Edinburg, a Board Member of the Juan Diego Catholic School and on the Zoning Board of Adjustments in Edinburg. He is an Advisory Board Member of the UTRGV Business School, and of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation. George is also an actively involved in the Cattle Barons Ball for the American Cancer Society and served as committee chair in 2015.

Mr. Cardenas holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas Pan American and is a graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking from Southern Methodist University.

Bo Conrad

Barry Bruce “Bo” Conrad, II
Executive Vice President / Chief of Specialty Lending

Bo Conrad is the Chief of Specialty Lending at Vantage Bank Texas where he manages Small Business Banking, SBA Lending, and lending to specialized industries such as physicians and businesses in the energy sector. Prior to this position, Mr. Conrad was the Chief Lending Officer of Vantage Bank Texas. During his 30-year career, he has held corporate lending and investment banking positions at several national banks as well as directing a retail branch network and a treasury management sales and services team.

Mr. Conrad has a B.A. in Managerial Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Marin Espinosa

Marin Espinosa
Executive Vice President / Chief Banking Services Officer

Marin Espinosa joined Vantage Bank Texas in 1990 and currently serves as the Chief Sales and Service Officer. In this role he oversees the Bank’s retail banking center network, mortgage and international sales and service, including foreign exchange. Mr. Espinosa has 35 years of experience in personal and international banking relationship management.

Mr. Espinosa has worked with the Rio Grande Valley chapter of Easter Seals, the Mission Economic Development Corporation, the Starr County Youth Fair and HOSTS, a Mission Independent School District initiative to mentor at-risk students.

Mr. Espinosa earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.

Phil Lesh2

Executive Vice President / Chief Financial Officer

Phil Lesh has been the Chief Financial Officer of Vantage Bank Texas since 2010 where he manages the Accounting and Finance Department, oversees asset and liability management, capital requirements, liquidity positions and overall financial performance of the Bank. Prior to joining Vantage Bank Texas, he served as a Senior Finance Manager and Consultant for Wachovia and Bank of America. Mr. Lesh has over 30 years of experience in finance management and is a past member of the Texas Bankers Association CFO Forum.

Mr. Lesh holds a BBA in Finance from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Robert Molloy

Robert Molloy
Executive Vice President / Regional President

Robert Molloy joined Vantage Bank Texas in 2019 and is the Regional President of the North Texas Market (Fort Worth/Dallas Metroplex). Prior to joining Vantage Bank Texas, Mr. Molloy led SouthWest Bank in Fort Worth. He is a respected member of the Fort Worth business community with a banking and banking leadership career spanning 33 years.

Mr. Molloy serves as a Board Member for YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth Endowment and Downtown Fort Worth Inc. He previously served as the Chairman of the Board for YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Texas A&M University.

Karen Moore

Executive Vice President / Chief Operational Risk Officer

Karen A. Moore has over 40 years of banking experience and currently serves as the Chief Operational Risk Officer (CORO) of Vantage Bank Texas. In her role as the CORO she oversees regulatory compliance, internal audit, security and BSA. Ms. Moore has worked in multiple areas of the banking sector, including data processing, information technology and security, physical security, accounting, operations and bank secrecy. She is a Certified BSA Officer and has expertise is in the management and training of banking systems.

Ms. Moore attended the Texas Tech School of Banking.

Randy Talley2

Executive Vice President / Chief Credit Officer

Randy Talley is currently serving as the Chief Credit Officer of Vantage Bank Texas. In this position, Mr. Talley is responsible for the management and strategic direction of the credit department, appraisal group, loan review team, and special asset division. He is a tenured credit officer with over 20 years of operational, sales, credit, and risk experience in banking and corporate lending. Prior to joining Vantage Bank Texas, Mr. Talley was the Chief Credit Officer at Southwest Bank in Fort Worth, Texas. His corporate experience includes senior management and executive positions at Equify Financial, Equify Real Estate, F&M Bank Corp and General Electric Capital Corporation.

Mr. Talley holds an undergraduate business degree from the University of North Texas.

Patty Terry

Executive Vice President / Chief Administrator & Chief of Human Resources

Patty Terry is the Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer of Vantage Bank Texas. Ms. Terry served as the Chief Operations Officer of Vantage Bank Texas from 2010 – 2018. Her banking career spans more than 40 years with a career emphasis on finance, accounting and commercial lending administration. She has led finance and administrative teams at Bank of America and Wachovia, serving as an executive and providing comprehensive support to leadership teams and other executives. She currently serves as the Secretary to the Board of Directors of Vantage Bank Texas.

Ms. Terry has a BBA in Accounting from Lamar University.

Paul Thornton

Executive Vice President / Regional President

Paul Thornton is a Regional President for Vantage Bank Texas and is responsible for Commercial Lending in San Antonio and Medina County. He has served in this capacity since 2009. Mr. Thornton has a varied background in his more than 35 years in banking, including Market CEO, Senior Credit Officer, Loan Administration Officer and teller.

Mr. Thornton is currently a Board Member of the United Way of San Antonio and of ChildSafe, a children’s advocacy center serving San Antonio and Bexar County. He is the Treasurer of the William Ludwikowski Foundation and is a member of the Texas State University Bobcat Club. Mr. Thornton was recognized in 1998 by the San Antonio Business Journal as a “40 under 40 Rising Star”.

Mr. Thornton received a BBA from Texas State University. He is a graduate of Oklahoma Commercial Lending School and a graduate of Texas Tech Banking School.
